Deloitte strengthens its ECM division with top team from KPMG

With the move of a six-strong team led by Jens Voss, Deloitte is setting an example in Equity Capital Markets Advisory and further expanding its market position.

Strategic expansion in Equity Capital Markets Advisory

Deloitte is strengthening its position in the highly competitive Equity Capital Markets (ECM) advisory segment by taking over an experienced six-person team from KPMG. Under the leadership of Jens Voss, former Head of Equity Capital Markets DACH at KPMG, the team moved to Deloitte on October 1, 2024. The new additions also include Cord Kunze, who was a Senior Manager at KPMG in the ECM business.

Thomas Menzler, Partner and Head of the M&A Transaction Services service line at Deloitte, sees the reinforcement as an important step: "The team around Jens Voss and Cord Kunze complements our existing offering and enables us to further expand our market presence and our range of services."

Experienced newcomers with impressive careers

Jens Voss has extensive experience in ECM consulting. Before working at KPMG for more than four years, where he headed the ECM business in the DACH region, he was responsible for the Equity Capital Markets division at Commerzbank for more than six years.

Cord Kunze joins the team with an equally impressive career. Prior to his almost three years as a Senior Manager at KPMG, he gained experience at renowned financial institutions such as Baader Bank, HSBC and Credit Suisse.

KPMG remains silent on personnel changes

It remains unclear whether and how KPMG will fill the vacancies that have arisen. According to KPMG, the ECM division will continue to be managed by Ralf Pfennig, Head of the Capital Markets Advisory Group in Germany.

Deloitte strengthens competitiveness in the Big Four market

The increase in personnel underlines Deloitte's ambition to position itself even more strongly in the capital markets sector. The experienced team not only provides Deloitte with additional expertise, but also potential mandates that can further advance the company in the highly competitive environment of the Big Four.

With this strategic measure, Deloitte is sending a clear signal: the expansion of the ECM area remains a central component of the growth strategy in order to consolidate long-term market leadership in important consulting fields.
