Oppenhoff partner Simon Spangler and GLNS partner Bernd Graßl are expanding their antitrust and M&A expertise in strategic locations.

Strategic personnel offensive in the Corporate segment

GSK Stockmann strengthened its partnership on August 1 with the addition of Dr. Simon Spangler and Dr. Bernd Graßl. Both new additions expand the corporate practice with specialized antitrust and capital markets expertise at the Hamburg and Munich offices.

Antitrust law expertise from Oppenhoff transfer

Spangler joins Oppenhoff after twelve years with the firm, including as an equity partner in the Hamburg office since 2019. His specialization includes German and European antitrust law, merger control proceedings as well as compliance and ESG advice. The transfer includes senior associate Renée Eckruth, which underlines the structured team acquisition. Spangler's cross-border integration into the corporate team expands the international advisory capacity.

M&A reinforcement through GLNS acquisition

Graßl brings over nine years of GLNS partner experience and previous Poellath expertise to the Munich office. He specializes in corporate law, M&A, stock corporation and capital markets law as well as corporate litigation.

Location-specific market development

The geographical distribution of the new additions to Hamburg and Munich enables regional market penetration in economically strong metropolitan regions. Spangler's ESG expertise addresses the growing demand for sustainability-related legal advice.

Competitive dynamics in the German legal market

The simultaneous partner acquisition of Oppenhoff and GLNS reflects the ongoing mobility between established commercial law firms. GSK Stockmann's expansion strategy focuses on specialized corporate services and international client support. These personnel decisions strengthen GSK Stockmann's position in the highly competitive German M&A and antitrust law market.
