The Munich-based commercial law firm acquires a three-person Pinsent Masons unit for expansion in the venture capital and private equity segment.

Strategic recruitment in corporate finance

SKW Schwarz is expanding its Munich M&A practice with a targeted team transfer from Pinsent Masons. The three-strong team of specialists around partner Tobias Rodehau, counsel Dr. Alexander Karst and senior associate Linda Wüllner will move to the German commercial law firm in stages between August and October. Rodehau, a partner at Pinsent Masons for eleven years and most recently Head of Private Equity/Venture Capital Germany, will start on August 6. Wüllner will follow on September 1, while Karst will complete the team integration in October.

Technology-focused transaction consulting

The recruitment is aimed at expanding specialized advisory capacities in technology-related sectors. Rodehau has extensive expertise in venture capital financing, private equity investments and cross-sector M&A operations. His client base is focused on financial services, healthcare and industrial goods with a strong focus on technology. This sector expertise strategically complements SKW Schwarz's existing advisory portfolios.

Complementary market positioning

Dr. Stephan Morsch, Managing Partner of SKW Schwarz, comments: "With Tobias Rodehau and his team, we are gaining excellent reinforcement with extensive sector and transaction experience, particularly in technology-related industries, which perfectly complements our other advisory services." Rodehau emphasizes the synergies: "The strategic focus on future-oriented business models, especially in the areas of new media, healthcare, IT & digital business, is an excellent fit with our existing client structure and offers a wide range of expansion opportunities."

Market consolidation in the legal tech segment

The team change reflects ongoing movements in the German legal market, where specialized expertise in future technologies is becoming increasingly competitive. With this acquisition, SKW Schwarz is positioning itself more competitively in high-growth advisory segments and significantly expanding its transaction capacities.
