The international commercial law firm Baker McKenzie has expanded its German partnership by two female lawyers as of July 1, 2025. Agnes Herwig and Rabea Pape-Lingier are moving up from counsel positions to the partnership, strengthening the firm's expertise in the areas of employment law and tax law.
As a new partner at the Frankfurt office, Agnes Herwig brings special expertise in modern employment law challenges. Her focus is on the use of artificial intelligence in employment law, wage transparency and equality as well as employment law aspects of corporate restructuring. She also advises companies on cross-border projects to harmonize working conditions and global employee mobility.
Rabea Pape-Lingier strengthens the tax law team in Düsseldorf with her specialization in complex transfer pricing matters and international tax planning. Her expertise includes multi-jurisdictional transfer pricing disputes, external audit defense as well as advance pricing arrangements and mutual agreement procedures to avoid double taxation.
The appointments are part of a larger round of promotions at Baker McKenzie, in which 59 new partners were appointed worldwide. The Mergers & Acquisitions practice is particularly well represented with 14 promotions, Employment & Compensation and Tax with 8 each and Dispute Resolution with 7 new partners. The high proportion of women (47 percent) in the global promotions is remarkable, while in Germany 100 percent of the new partners are female. This underlines Baker McKenzie's commitment to diversity in the firm's leadership and reflects the changing nature of the legal profession. The expansion of the German partnership strengthens Baker McKenzie's position in two particularly sought-after areas of law and underlines the strategic importance of the German market for the international law firm.
