ChatGPT Tasks turns the AI chatbot into a personal assistant: Automatic planning, regular updates and intelligent suggestions make everyday life easier - exclusively for users of the paid versions.
With "ChatGPT Tasks", OpenAI is introducing a new function that evolves the chatbot from a reactive AI to an active digital assistant. Users can schedule recurring tasks and receive not only reminders, but also directly relevant content - from voice exercises to personalized message briefings.
ChatGPT Tasks makes it possible to define regular requests in advance. Instead of manually starting a query every day, users can determine when and at what intervals certain information is provided. For example, the tool automatically provides practice sessions for a foreign language, a weekly financial overview or daily news updates.
Another feature: ChatGPT makes proactive suggestions for new tasks based on previous activities. Results are sent via push notification or email. Tasks can also be paused if users do not wish to receive updates while on vacation, for example.
ChatGPT Tasks is currently in the beta phase and is only available to users of the paid ChatGPT versions. The feature can be tested in the web versions for iOS, Android and MacOS, while the Windows app will follow in the first quarter.
At the start, the number of simultaneously active tasks is limited to ten - an extension is likely to follow as the function is further developed.
