With a focus on energy transition, investor support and Asian business, the global law firm is promoting three experts in Germany.
The commercial law firm Clifford Chance is sending out a strong signal in the German market: in the midst of an international wave of promotions with 31 new partners worldwide, three legal advisors at the Düsseldorf and Munich offices are being promoted to the top management level.
Dr. Samuel Frommelt has been appointed Partner in the Bavarian capital. The transaction expert, who only joined from Kirkland & Ellis in 2021 and was appointed Counsel in 2022, strengthens the private equity team. His expertise lies in advising financial investors and their portfolio companies on complex takeovers and investments.
The Düsseldorf office has been strengthened twice: Nicolas Cookson has been contributing his knowledge of energy, infrastructure and raw materials since joining the firm in 2013 (then in Paris). He supports clients in particular in projects relating to the energy transition, renewable energies and offshore wind farms as well as in the battery value chain.
Dr. Tobias Nogami Kamerling, who also works on the Rhine, enriches the corporate practice with his special focus on Japanese direct investments in Europe. The lawyer, who was promoted to Counsel in 2022, advises companies and investors in the energy, infrastructure and production sectors, with a particular focus on Japanese clients.
The promotions will take effect on May 1 and complement the recently announced nine counsel appointments in Germany.
